Joseph Alexander Goode is one of East London’s most enigmatic artists, with a flair for eccentricity and a mischievous outlook on life. Joseph encapsulates his untamed eye using the ornate beauty of all that is vintage.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, as well as the Centuries of craftsmen and artists who have strived to make the mundane magical, he explains, ‘I’ve tried to explore the deep & complex essence of what we find visually appealing, which nobody fully understands, and so it’s important for me to try to push the boundaries of what is possible. Natural beauty beyond reality is something that I find captivating, as it has endless possibilities if you have the patience to explore the unknown. Infinite textures, forms & patterns found in nature that are bursting with incredible colour combinations give a seemingly infinite number of outcomes, which can be organised until they start to gel together into something that finds the right balance.’
Joseph now resides in Sofia with his family.
